RIP George Carlin. May 12 1937 - June 22 2008

No other comedian – living or recently dead – has influenced me, my worldview or my thought process more than George Carlin. No one has entertained me more, made me think, made me laugh and made me question things more than George Carlin. In my honest opinion, George Carlin is the greatest comedian I have ever seen. Topical, surreal, humorous, thought provoking, controversial, confrontational and dangerous.

He has nailed everything from religion:

Global warming:

The human condition:

The American Dream:

And of course, profanity:

And has done it in a ball bustingly hilarious fashion. Please, watch the above videos. You will laugh, smile and think. No one has ever done it better. Ever. The world is a far less funny place without him.

“The most unfair thing about life is the way it ends. I mean, life is tough. It takes up a lot of your time. What do you get at the end of it? A Death! What’s that, a bonus? I think the life cycle is all backwards. You should die first, get it out of the way. Then you live in an old age home. You get kicked out when you're too young, you get a gold watch, you go to work. You work forty years until you're young enough to enjoy your retirement. You do drugs, alcohol, you party, you getr eady for high school. You go to grade school, you become a kid, you play, you have no responsibilities, you become a little baby, you go back into the womb, you spend your last nine months floating… And you finish off as an orgasm.”

RIP George. You will be sorely missed.

I could not agree more! Screw Chris Rock, Carlin was the man. The world is poorer without him in it.
