Religious Hypocrisy

Just a little thought; why is it that the religious and the Conservative always think that the freedoms of society that are offered to them as rights are negotiable when it comes to people that don't think like they do? Go look for consistency in Conservatism or religion.

Because conservatives and the religious right only participate in democracy to destroy it, and return us to whatever "golden age" myth they think they're working to get back to.

Conservatism as a political ideology was born in the age of revolutions; if you were a conservative, you believed in the Divine Right of Kings, and fought to defeat democratic liberals and republicans trying to have constitutional democracy and universal suffrage, because these things go against the will of god (who appoints all kings). In a God-centered universe, all you need is brutal authority; no sissy democracy. Jesus did not ask his followers for a vote; Muhammad did not ask his followers for a vote; Moses killed everyone who disobeyed, and invented laws proscribing circumcisions, stoning, etc.

These religions are all, inherently, violently undemocratic.

Past generations fought bloody wars to take control of our lives away from conservatives. They will win it back, now that enough time has passed, and history is forgotten, and we have grown complacent and naive.
